Cohort Model

Students in the UF MDP program identify with being part of an academic cohort. Generally, all incoming students in a cohort are in the same courses for the first year of the program, and often take many of the same courses their second year. MDP Cohorts become a tight-knit group, with students choosing to collaborate for academic activities as well as get together for social activities outside of classes. MDP students appreciate the sense of community and support that comes with being part of a specific cohort, especially as many who join the program are new to UF and Gainesville, FL. This invaluable connection amongst students in each cohort is evident, and MDP students enjoy the opportunity to connect with peers that, like them, have worked in international settings and share a passion for development work.
